Microneedling: Heal and Renew Your Skin
Broomfield’s Sonata Laser Aesthetics micro needling therapy is one of the newest innovations in non-invasive skin rejuvenation. Using a tiny pen-like device, Dr. Janowski uses the tiny, vibrating needles to create micro-injuries to the epidermis and dermis. The vibration of the device, combined with topical numbing agents, make the procedure very tolerable, and almost pain-free. Patients describe the experience as feeling like a heavy microdermabrasion.
The micro-injuries created by the tiny needles encourage active skin renewal. The idea of creating tiny disruptions to the skin to encourage re-growth and repair is not new. However, microneedling allows patients to experience the power of skin rejuvenation with little to no down time involved. In fact, most patients return to their normal activities immediately following the procedure.
What to Expect During your Microneedling Session at Sonata
During the micro-needling session in our Broomfield, CO office, topical products are driven into the skin using the microneedle. This allows for enhanced absorption of powerful cosmeceutical products. At Sonata Laser Aesthetics, Dr. Janowski’s preferred topical agent is your own Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP). Your own plasma contains your most powerful healing agents, and by using the microneedling device to help the PRP penetrate your skin, you are essentially doubling up the healing and renewal effects. The use of PRP with microneedling is known as the Plasma Facial – a procedure Dr. Janowski has been specially trained to perform.
Most notably, microneedling has been clinically proven to be effective in the treatment of scars, especially acne scarring. Both the texture and the color of scars can be improved, and our patients have seen their own scars gradually fade away.
Microneedling treatments work best as a series of 3, allowing for some recovery time in between each procedure. Immediately following the procedure, your skin will appear flushed, and you will want to avoid wearing make-up or other topical products for a few hours. Your skin is extremely porous following the procedure and you want to make sure that you aren’t applying anything abrasive or harmful to the skin at this time.
The potential applications of microneedling are vast, and as physicians study this new technique, patients are reaping the benefits of effective skin renewal with no down time.
